It would be nice to be a Mexican living in Mexico.  I can’t imagine what it would be like to live in a place where the government actually acts in the majority’s best interests.  From the L.A. Times blog:

“Tens of thousands of Central Americans enter Mexico illegally every year, most with the hope of continuing on to the United States.  But many stay in Mexico, at least for a time, where they may be beaten, killed, raped, kidnapped by criminal gangs, put in jail or shaken down by corrupt Mexican officials…

The Amnesty report says that up to 60% of female migrants suffer some form of sexual abuse; migrants are routinely forced to pay bribes; detention centers are woefully overcrowded, and victims are too terrorized to make formal complaints, rendering them “invisible.””

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/laplaza/2010/04/mexicos-treatment-of-immigrants-slammed.html

To summarize:  Mexico dumps its poorest (numbering in the tens of millions) on the United States.  The US government then taxes its citizenry to pay for, among other things:

-K-12 education for children of the illegals.

-Emergency room care (it is against the law to refuse care in the US).

-Processing and imprisonment of illegals who commit crimes.

And President Felipe Calderon comes to the US every year to lecture the US government about “racism” and to demand that they repeal their already unenforced immigration laws.  He does all of this while turning a blind eye to (if not secretly encouraging) the terrible treatment of illegal immigrants on Mexico’s southern border.

Their marriage has a fever, their marriage has a fever, their marriage… has a… fever.

Al Gore

Al and Tipper Gore are separating. It looks like the Kingpin of the Global Warming Hoax is going to be living the single life. What does this mean for the world?

I can imagine 2 outcomes.

1. Al Gore starts chasing some young tail… which increases the potential for more mutant offspring of Satan.
2. Al Gore finally comes out of the closet… which means Gore will likely produce a new movie arguing the dire consequences facing this planet due to heterosexuality. I can imagine Keith Overbite jumping on this cause.

Either way, the question remains… If Al gets to keep the Mansion, does Tipper get to keep the internet?

Apple Sucks
The US department of justice is making preliminary inquiries about Apple’s practices in the music industry. The inquiries are digging into Apple’s alleged anti-trust practices related to their flagship digital music store iTunes.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that investigators were probing whether Apple has tried to persuade music labels to not give rival Amazon.com Inc. exclusive access to soon-to-be released music, an issue that surfaced in March in an article in music-trade magazine Billboard.

It looks like things are starting to catch up to Apple. Hopefully this brings the beginning of the end and little Mom and Pop companies, like Microsoft, can get back to running world.

Tough break for the Trendy Apple “Genius” out there.

US SoldiersI came across an interesting article today. The article was about a report comparing the Taliban’s weapon of choice v the US issue M4 Assault Rifle. The report indicates that the Taliban soldiers may be able to outgun the US forces due to the higher caliber bullet shot by an AK-47.

The 7.62mm round in the AK-47 is heavier and larger than the 5.56mm caliber bullet in the M4, and can therefore fly further on average. It is believed that during a long range shoot out, the Terrorists will be have fire superiority. The AK rounds can be shot from a longer range and have a higher killing potential due to their size.

An AP report published over the weekend in Army Times argued that the M4 rifle’s light bullets lack sufficient velocity and killing power in long-range firefights. The report states that the U.S. is considering a switch to weapons that fire a larger round, one largely discarded in the 1960s.

Does anyone know if the US has made a deal with CyberDyne Systems to manufacture the T-800 Model 101 yet?

Y2KThrow out your shorts and go buy a fur.

As everyone is aware, Anthropogenic Global Warming has become the laughing stock of the decade. It is pretty well common knowledge that AGW does NOT exist and has never existed. We can all agree that Al Gore needs to be put in jail for his part in the Global Warming Hoax and moreover his gross profiteering.

It looks like the scientific community is at it again. They have realized that people are tired of listening to Global Warming Propaganda and the truth is finally starting to come out (with the help of some Russian Hackers). The new trend emerging is that the world is about to embark on a period of Global Cooling!!

Contrary to the commonly held scientific conclusion that the Earth is getting warmer, Dr. Don Easterbrook, emeritus professor of geology at Western Washington University and author of more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, has unveiled evidence for his prediction that global cooling is coming soon.

I love a joke as much as the next guy, but this is going too far. When are these people going to wake up and realize they have zero credibility. Everyday they come out with some new trend in an effort to spark a new global hysteria phenomenon.

Personally, I am still trying to prepare for the coming doom of Y2K. I haven’t even caught up to Global Warming and now I have to fear Global Cooling.

I am sticking with Y2K.

Marc EmeryThe so-called “Prince of Pot” is being extradited to a US federal court from Vancouver, Canada today. Marc Emery, 52, is being transferred from a Vancouver municipal jail today to a federal holding cell in Seattle, Washington. He pleaded guilty to one charge of drug distribution last year and has been sentenced to serve 5 years imprisonment. He is guilty of shipping marijuana seeds from Canada to US citizens.

The US/Canada extradition of Emery dispute has been ongoing for years. Finally a Conservative Cabinet Minister in the Canadian Government decided it was time for Emery to pay for his crimes.

Earlier this month, Justice Minister Rob Nicholson announced his decision to extradite Emery to the U.S., where he is facing a five-year prison term.

Lets all take a moment and give a round of applause to Rob Nicholson. He has stood up for the laws of Canada. It seems the Conservative Government in Canada is doing a great job!! I think everyone can agree that the world will be a better place with Emery behind bars, rather than teaching kids how to use a bong.

I guess the Frito-Lay Corporation will take a hit this quarter in the BC lower mainland with one less stoner at 7-11.

In the wake of the recent threat of boycott from the city of Los Angeles, Arizona fired back saying that they could potentially cut off the power supply to LA if they continue with their Arizona boycott. I, for one, am glad that Arizona has taken a hard line on these reactionary cities and states threatening AZ with boycott. As proven with the recent public comments by Homeland Defense Secretary Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder who admitted under oath that they had not even read the new Arizona law many of the people opposed are ideologue zealots who can do nothing but complain without offering solutions. Illegal immigration has been a huge problem for the US/Mexico border for a number of years now with several administrations ignoring the issue. I’m glad Arizona has taken a hard stance on this issue and has become relentless in getting the Feds to make changes.

Arizona Official Threatens to Cut Off Los Angeles Power as Payback for Boycott

If Los Angeles wants to boycott Arizona, it had better get used to reading by candlelight.

That’s the message from a member of Arizona’s top government utilities agency, who threw down the gauntlet Tuesday in a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa by threatening to cut off the city’s power supply as retribution.

Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the five-member Arizona Corporation Commission, wrote the letter in response to the Los Angeles City Council’s decision last week to boycott the Grand Canyon State — in protest of its immigration law — by suspending official travel there and ending future contracts with state businesses.

Hi All,

It’s been a while since we have posted here on Mans Inc. – just over a year now! Well to be honest the lapse in time between my last post and this one was an all out disgust for the world events at the time. Over the course of the last year the political scene has gotten a lot worse and I’ve gotten a lot more bitter. That said, I figured this should be the end of my silence and I have a duty to once again take to the airwaves of the World Wide Web. This last year has opened my eyes to issues which I knew not to question before like Global Warming and I feel it is my responsiblity to spread this new knowledge of information. Expect the posts to come fast and furious – I’m excited to be back in saddle!

When President Woodrow Wilson made his famous speech at the Paris Peace Conference he made a pledge for the world to open its doors to the thought of a global system of security and freedom.  One of his 14 points advocated the need for open seas in which all countries could be assured of the protection of merchant ships traveling in international waters and through territorial seaways.  For almost 90 years the seas were open and welcome to any merchant ship traveling abroad securing the function of free trade and international commerce.

However, the freedom and security of merchant ships traveling in international waters has come under recent threat from a band of Sudanese pirates.  Both German and Greek shipping companies have paid large ransoms, some in the millions, for the recovery of oil tankers and cargo ships worth in the hundreds of millions.  These Euro countries set the bar for these pirates and propelled them to continue terrorizing ships off the coast of Sudan.

French Navy Captures 11 Sudanese Pirates

French Navy Captures 11 Sudanese Pirates

Then they attacked an American ship and the game changed.  Last week four Sudanese pirates raided the Maersk Alabama and took Capt. Richard Phillips hostage.  After days of negotiating between the terrorists and the American shipping company, the White House gave orders for a daring rescue mission.  The Navy Seals assassinated the four pirates and grabbed the captain without skipping a beat.

In response to the killing of four of their peers, the pirate gang captured four vessels within 24 hours of the American captain being rescued.  Now it comes out that the French have detained 11 of these pirates in a raid on one of their mother ships.

My question is this: Why are the French, of all people, taking action against this terrorist group when America’s foreign policy is determined to combat global terrorism.  The answer can be found by taking one look inside the oval office at the administration running the show.

Yes, President Obama gave the go for an offensive to rescue Capt. Phillips, but is he going to turn his back and walk away?  Considering the four pirates that took control of the American ship made their move on a rubber dingy, it is clear how pathetic the scale to which they operate on is.  Why don’t the Americans station a couple submarines in the area and torpedo these dinghies to hell.  This is just one case where, at the very least, Obama could easily pass a resolution through the UN to grant international naval assistance to secure the area for merchant ships.  But once again, Obama plays the middle ground waiting for these pirates to strike again.

This whole pirate situation is quite a joke.  Thomas Friedman, an accomplished writer for the New York Times, highlights in this article the uselessness of diplomacy in a time like this.  There is a reason why America doesn’t negotiate with terrorists.  In the most recent international crisis the Obama administration finally showed it had balls and gave the go for a navy seal mission to rescue an American captain captured by four Sudanese pirates.  I have to give Obama credit for his decision to kill these terrorists, but I feel more credit is due to both the capitain and the American Seals.

Thomas L. Friedman

I’ve been thinking lately of starting a new school of foreign service to train U.S. diplomats. My school, though, would be very simple. It would consist of a single classroom with a desk and a chair. At the desk would be a teacher, pretending to be a foreign leader. The student would come in and have to persuade the foreign leader to do something — to pull this or that lever. At one point, the foreign leader would nod vigorously in agreement and then reach behind him and pull the lever — and it would come off the wall in his hands. Or, he would nod vigorously and say, “Yes, yes, of course, I will pull that lever,” but then would only pretend to do so.

I’m wondering if President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton aren’t those students, trying to deal with the leaders of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and North Korea. I say that not to criticize but to sympathize. “Mama, don’t let your children grow up to be diplomats.”

This is not the great age of diplomacy.

A secretary of state can broker deals only when other states or parties are ready or able to make them. In the cold war, an age of great powers, grand bargains and reasonably solid client states, there were ample opportunities for that — whether in arms control with the Soviet Union or peacemaking between our respective client states around the globe. But this is increasingly an age of pirates, failed states, nonstate actors and nation-building — the stuff of snipers, drones and generals, not diplomats.

Hence the déjà vu all over again quality of U.S. foreign policy right now — the sense that when it comes to our major problems (Afghanistan and Pakistan and North Korea and Iran), we just go around and around, buying the same carpets from the same people, over and over, but nothing changes.

“We are dealing with states and leaders who either cannot deliver or will not deliver,” notes the Johns Hopkins University foreign policy professor Michael Mandelbaum. “The issues we have with them look less like problems that can be solved and more like conditions that we have to manage.”

The ones who can’t deliver — the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan — are the ones who promise to do all sorts of good things, and pull all sorts of levers, but at the end of the day the levers come off the wall because the governments in these countries have only limited powers. The ones who won’t deliver — Iran and North Korea — time and again tell us: “Yes, we need to talk.” But at the end of the day, their hostile relationships with America or the West are so central to the survival strategy of their regimes, so much at the core of their justifications for remaining in power, that it is not in their interest to deliver real reconciliation, but just to pretend to deliver it.

The only thing that could change this is a greater exercise of U.S. and allied power. In the case of Afghanistan and Pakistan, that power would have to be used to actually rebuild these states from the inside into modern nations. We would literally have to build the institutions — the pulleys and wheels — so that when the leaders of these states pulled a lever something actually happened, and the lever wouldn’t just break off in their hands.

And in the case of the strong states — Iran and North Korea — we would have to generate much more effective leverage from the outside to get them to change their behavior along the lines we seek. In both cases, though, success surely would require a bigger and longer U.S. investment of money and power, not to mention allies.

Instead, I fear that we are adopting a middle-ground strategy — doing just enough to avoid collapse but not enough to solve the problems. If our goal in Afghanistan and Pakistan is nation-building, so they will have self-sustaining moderate governments, we surely don’t have enough troops or resources inside devoted to either. If our goal is changing regime behavior in Iran and North Korea, we surely have not generated enough leverage from outside. North Korea’s defiant missile launch and Iran’s continued development of its nuclear capability testify to that.

So, in sum, we have four problem countries at the heart of U.S. foreign policy today that we don’t have the will or ability to ignore but seem to lack the leverage or the allies to decisively change. The big wild card — a critical mass of people who share our aspirations inside these countries, rising up and leading the fight, which is ultimately what tipped Iraq for the better — I don’t see. As such, I fear we are sliding into commitments in Afghanistan and Pakistan without a real national debate about the ends or the means or the exits. That is a recipe for trouble.

Given all that is on his plate, you cannot blame President Obama for looking for a middle ground — not wanting to abandon progressives and women in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but not wanting to get in too deeply. But history teaches that the middle ground can be a perilous place. Think of Iraq before the surge — not enough to win or lose, but just enough to be stuck.

The State Legislature in Georgia is on the verge of passing a bill, Bill SB67, that requires the written driving test to be taken in English. Currently the road test is done with English examiners only, but the written portion of the test can be written in up to 19 different languages. The proposed bill will mandate that the test can be offered in English only and no translators or aids will be allowed to be present while writing the test.

ATLANTA — Georgia would require that new drivers take a written license test in English under a bill being considered by state lawmakers, and the proposal has some employers and immigrant advocates worried it would keep people unfamiliar with the language from being able to work.

The measure is the latest in a series of English-only legislation around the country, but Georgia is believed to be the only state that would have a law requiring that drivers take the written test in English without a translator or other aid. Versions of the bill have passed both chambers of the Legislature, and lawmakers are trying to hash out differences before the session ends Friday.

Supporters say it is a public safety measure because drivers need to be able to read English to understand roadside signs and warnings. Opponents argue that the measure unfairly targets immigrants and may violate the 1964 Civil Rights Act. They also say it could discourage foreign companies from making investments in the state and affect local companies who hire foreign workers.

Of course this bill makes sense. People have to be able to read English while they drive. Furthermore, if someone walked into the local DMV and demanded to take the test in the language from Lord of the Rings (I need a super Nerd to reference what that language is called) what do you think would happen. It is not really any different. If you are going to allow a Spanish or Chinese test, where does it end. English is the official language of Georgia and that is the only language they wish to offer the test.

I am sure the left wing loonies are out in full force over this one. FIRM has come out publicly against the bill, it is worth reading their stance. Here is another left wing liberal view.

The inaugural selection for the Mans Inc. book of the month is entitled “Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism” by Arthur C. Brooks.

It is statistically proven that the single biggest indicator of one’s charitable givings is religion. I found it really interesting to read the various statistical breakdowns of altruism in the United States. Before being exposed to this book, I wasn’t sure what the findings would be to such a question, although it would seem that liberalism/socialism would naturally lead people to greater giving. It is simply not the case. Here are a few of the more telling statistics to be garnered from the book:

  • Although liberal families’ incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household ($1,600 per year vs. $1,227).
  • Conservatives also donate more time and give more blood.
  • People who reject the idea that “government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality” give an average of four times more than people who accept that proposition.

One of the things that I found really interesting that is so often religious conservatives tend to oppose liberal social justice advocates, and it is quite eye-opening to see who really “practices what they preach.” It is also interesting given that WordPress, the host which is lucky enough to have Mans Inc. on it, is replete with militant atheist blogs, and the statistical reality highlighted by Brooks is a stark reminder to these contributors to tone back their rhetoric and acknowledge the truths regarding how social justice and charitable organizations are supported.

I would recommend this book to any conservative who wishes to gain a more accurate platform to understand the disconnect between liberal philosophy and practice.

I’ll finish with a quote:

While conservatives tend to regard giving as a personal rather than governmental responsibility, some liberals consider private charity a retrograde phenomenon — a poor palliative for an inadequate welfare state, and a distraction from achieving adequacy by force, by increasing taxes. Ralph Nader, running for president in 2000, said: “A society that has more justice is a society that needs less charity.” Brooks, however, warns: “If support for a policy that does not exist … substitutes for private charity, the needy are left worse off than before. It is one of the bitterest ironies of liberal politics today that political opinions are apparently taking the place of help for others.”

The Delta Smelt is a 5-7cm. long fish that is listed on the Endangered Species List, and it resides in California, a state severely hit by the current depression.

The California taxpayer is about 6 feet tall, works about 40 hours a week, and is quite abundant all along the West Coast, including California.

Apparently, according to the liberal hippies in California, and in California’s congressional delegation (I’m looking at you Pelosi) in Washington, the former is more important than the latter.

The protection of this fish is slated to remove 500,000 acres of agriculturally-viable lands in the state from use, resulting in the loss of 80,000 estimated jobs. Exactly what California needs right now, I’m sure.

Although the scheme and object of the Endangered Species Act is legitimate in many situations, this is clearly not one of them. The basic principle of common sense is being drown in the same waters that these little Anchovy-wannabes are swimming in.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Ca.) is finding the situation so ridiculous that he says California as we know it, is over, and the reset button must be hit.

That reset button should be saved for the Democrats in Congress that are so drunk on ideology that they would allow for this environmental legislation to be bastardized in such a way that would cost 80,000 people their jobs. This is an example of how the current depression is causing the cracks to start openly tearing in some areas of the US. Issues like these need to be brought to the attention of the public in greater detail so that the hard-working tax-payers on this continent can take a stand for what is right, and not let the sinking ship that is America fall even faster.

Rep. Nunes, who is quickly becoming my favorite member of Congress, made a powerful YouTube video which any MansInc. regular should check out…

” We should just take back all the money that we gave those executives.”

“If the government is bailing out corporations like AIG, why can’t the government simply not pay executives these bonuses that aren’t earned?”

“Obama sucks!” (just to keep these articles harmonious).

The economy has most people dusting off their old pickfork, lighting up that trusty torch, and joining the angry mob.

One of the stories that has received the most attention regards the bonuses that are being paid to executives of corporations now under majority control by the United States Government. Hearing of executives of these companies being paid bonuses during tough economic times, when their companies have performed terribly, using government money that objectively represents debt that will be paid by our children’s children, will cause anyone to get pissed off, and rightfully so. But there is a huge difference between what ought to be and what is.

These bonuses represent contactual obligations that these corporations are bound to pay their employees. The Rule of Law would be severely deteriorated if these bonuses were not paid despite their contractual validity, as counter-intuitive as that sounds. No amount of moralistic reasoning, or meritocratic logic allows this contracts to be dissolved. This would have severe implications for many contractual relationships between employers and employees, and the negatives will far outweigh the positives in the long run.

The Democrat-controlled House and Senate has advanced a plan to retroactively tax these bonuses, which amounts to stealing from these citizens.

These bonuses are gone, and the major media needs to start focusing on the lack of leadership the Democrats are showing in proactively instituting new reforms to ensure that this pattern of incompetence does not continue.

I have yet to write a piece on the brutal job President Obama is doing running the free world but i have had enough.  Not only does he take a shot at mentally challenged athletes saying that his bowling score was something resembling the special olympics, but it has been nothing but hypocracy coming out of that guys mouth since day 1!.

Beef 1) The Detroit school district reported that in 2008 only 18% of its highschool graduates continued on to post secondary education and less than 30% of highschool kids actually graduated.  There is a serious problem with Detroit school board and something needs to be done about it. There are several solutions including federal regulatio.  But, what would Obama have us do? Fork over $500+ million and hope for the best.  The Detroit school district is missing $56 million from its 2008 budget and has reported to be $200 millions dollars in debt!  Once again, Obama looks to his money tree to solve another one of America’s regularoty problems.

Beef 2) Before appearing on Jay Leno’s late night talk show, the President met with research groups who are looking in to the development of electric cars.  Hey Hussein! Been there! Done that! The electric car is not viable in today’s market.  Maybe when the price of oil was well over $100 a barrel but spending millions of dollars into R&D for something that is out of your hands is BS!  Not only is it hypocritical that he was preaching about electric cars in Californa, state that has to IMPORT its electricity from Beautiful British Columbia, Canada, but number of people who can barely afford electricity as it is would see a drastic increse in utilities!  Once again, Obama spening money not to enhance the economy, but to promote his partisan agenda! what an OBAMAnation!

Beef 3) Again, a comment made on Jay Leno’s talk show was about how his plan for massive investment into healthcare and clean energy will improve the ecnomy.  BOGUS!  It is proven that things like healthcare, minimum wage and “equalization”, in some bilingual countries north of the 49th parallel, actually slow economic growth!  Do you think that China would be where it’s at if it was sending equalization to Tibet?! HELL NO!  Obama’s socialist agenda is pushing this government stiumlous plan way overboard.  This recession has been for the democrats what 9/11 was for the neo-conservatives: A God send!  I can’t wait to get this left leaning HACK out of the whitehouse!
